TEACH A CHILD TO FISH AND THEY WILL EAT FOR A LIFETIME.
The 2006 Youth Tournament which was held in October at the in was a success.
A total of 63 youth, club members, family and friends registered. Three community organizations, the Christian Outdoor Coalition, Dominion Preparatory School and the Boy Scouts of the Living Word Church brought participants.
A class on fishing safety and regulations was presented by club board members before the start of the tournament to all first time anglers.
Trophies were awarded to the youth with the longest fish (1st, 2nd and 3rd place), the ugliest fish and the most unusual catch. In addition to the trophies, all participants received a picture of himself.
Special thanks to Tommie Hobbs of the Christian Outdoor Coalition for providing lunch for this event, Judy Perkins and the food committee for lunch preparation. And as always, the tournament director John Perkins did a wonderful job organizing this event.
